IOSH SUPERVISING SAFELY IN CONSTRUCTION
COURSE DURATION 3 DAYS
AIM
The Course aims to provide persons with a responsibility for others with the relevant knowledge and skills required to supervise safely in construction.
OBJECTIVES
On successful completion of the course, delegates will have the required knowledge and information to:
- Work Safely as an individual
- Effectively supervise safety
- Contribute to the organisation’s safety performance
- Relevant standards – legislation, guidance, good practice, Company procedures
- Common control measures / safe systems of work and how to develop them through risk assessments and method statements
- Relevant competence / training standards

These issues will be addressed for the following range of topics:–
- Legal duties, responsibilities and requirements
- Overview Process and practical application of risk assessment
- The legal requirements, establishment and maintenance of safe systems of work
- Accident reporting and investigation
- Human factors, Attitude, Personality, Motivation and the Prevention of human error
- Monitoring the safety policy, arrangements and procedures
